Bountiful Baskets

A few months ago a friend of mine introduced us to Bountiful Baskets. They are a local food Co-op. They are AMAZING! You have the option to purchase any week you want and if you don't want to participate you don't have to. For $15 you get a basket with healthy fruits and veggies. This is what we go this weekend. Pears, oranges, apples, blue berries, grapefruit, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, green beans, cabbage, asparagus and romaine lettuce. This is one of the smaller baskets; the sizes vary depending on what kind of deals the people that run the group can get. We've gotten things like watermelon and fresh pineapple. While you don't get to choose what you get, it’s been fun to try new things that you may never have tried. Also, they try to put a variety of foods in so you don't get bored with the same things week after week. They also have the most delicious 9-grain bread. If you've never heard of them or have heard of them but never tried doing it, I would highly suggest it. It's so fun each week to go get your basket and see what you get! Not only that, it has saved me a TON of money on fresh produce, which is helpful since we're trying to eat healthier. If your interested their web site is www.bountifulbaskets.org. You can purchase your basket starting at 10 am Monday morning and they stop taking orders at 8:30 (I think) on Tuesday night. You then pick up your basket on Saturday morning. There are a ton of sites all across the Salt Lake Valley, and there are many other areas and states that participate as well.
