We surprised the kids with a trip to Disneyland. We originally were going to go to Las Vegas, but it got turned into Disneyland and we decided to keep that quite until we actually got to Vegas and spilled the beans. For any of you that know our family, we are rarely serious so it took some convincing that we were really going there and not just teasing. We got to California on Friday night and went to Downtown Disney. They have this store called Ride Makerz. It's kind of like build a bear, except that you build a car. So my brother and each of the kids built one. On Saturday morning we spent the morning in California Adventure where Jake got to meet Mickey for the first time. Those pictures are on my mom's camera so I'll post more about that in another post. We spent the whole day there and went back to the hotel at about 9, where the kids cooled off in the pool after a HOT day.
On Sunday we spent the day in Disneyland. We were able to go on all the rides that we wanted to and then just goof around a little.
Isn't she just beautiful?!?!?
Monday morning, we checked out of our hotel in Disneyland and headed back for Vegas where we attended Tournament of the Kings. This is like Mid Evil times and the kids had a blast. We sat in the France section, and according to the kids, we won! Our knight stayed so we could take pictures with him. I almost think that the kids enjoyed this more than Disneyland.
On Tuesday, we just kicked back and relaxed. We took a stroll down the strip. We had talked to the kids about the types of pictures that they would encounter on this trip, but they were so good! They focused on looking up and never looked down even when the sun was glaring in their eyes. We visited New York
The M& M factory
And Pairs all in one day.
We had a really good trip. The kids had fun, and Jake was a trooper. He got sick on the way home, but other than that he traveled really well.
